While his Beijing 2022 campaign ended without a podium finish, the strides British bobsleigh star Brad Hall has taken this season have seen him win World Cup gold for the very first time in December 2022. He now sits second (four-man) and third (two-man) in the World Cup standings before the Altenberg races mark the beginning of the European section of this year’s circuit.

The Brits edged out Francesco Friedrich's German team as the hosts lost for the first time in 17 years, with Switzerland coming third. The British and German quartets are now level on points at the top of the standings.
